Every employer was once a fresher, and they know it. A good fresher CV does not hide the lack of experience. It shows potential with education, projects, skills and attitude.
Choose the right structure
Put sections in this order: contact details, profile, education, projects or internships, skills, languages, extra activities. Keep it to one page.
Write a profile that names the job you want
Avoid vague objectives. Write something like: "BBA graduate with strong Excel and communication skills, looking for an entry-level sales role. Completed a three-month internship and organised a university event for 200 students."
Use education as your main section
List your degree, university, years and any strong results, a final-year project or relevant subjects. Add scholarships and awards.
Count anything that is real work
- Internships and training programmes
- Part-time jobs, family business work and freelancing
- Volunteering and society or club roles
- Class projects, research and competitions
For each item write what you did and the result: "Organised a career fair for 25 companies and 200 students" is better than "member of society".
Pick skills the job needs
Read the job advert and list the skills you can prove: Microsoft Excel, typing speed, English communication, basic design, coding languages. Be honest, because you may be tested.
Do not do this
- Do not write "no experience"
- Do not use a long list of every subject you studied
- Do not copy a CV from the internet
