Driver CV Example and Writing Guide

A driver CV should be short, honest and easy to check. Put your licence type and number, how many years you have driven, the type of vehicle and the kind of driving first: personal driver, company driver, delivery, pick and drop or taxi. Employers also want a clean record, knowledge of city routes and basic vehicle care. If you hold a Pakistani licence and want to work in the Gulf, say that you are ready for licence conversion or a local driving test.

What to include in a driver CV

  • Write your licence type, issue year and expiry near the top. Employers check this first.
  • Say the kind of driving: personal driver, company driver, pick and drop, delivery or taxi.
  • Mention the vehicles you drove, manual and automatic, and the distances you covered.
  • Add a clean record line only if it is true, such as "no accident or challan in 5 years".
  • For Gulf jobs, write that you are ready for licence conversion or a driving test in the country.

Sample profile (copy the idea, not the words)

Responsible light vehicle driver with 7 years of experience as a personal and company driver in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Holds a valid LTV licence with no accident record, knows the city routes well, keeps vehicles clean and serviced and is polite with senior passengers and families.

Skills to consider

Light vehicle driving (LTV licence), Personal driver duties, Pick and drop and delivery, City and highway driving, Route planning and GPS, Basic vehicle maintenance, Defensive driving, Manual and automatic cars, Punctuality and clean record.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Leaving out your licence number or expiry date
  • Claiming a heavy vehicle skill when you only drive cars
  • Using a casual email address that looks unprofessional

How to write a driver CV step by step

  1. Start with your contact details and headline. Write your name, phone, e-mail and city, and a headline such as "Light Vehicle and Personal Driver".
  2. Write a two to three sentence profile. Say who you are, how many years of experience you have and one result you are proud of.
  3. List experience, newest first. For every job give the title, employer, dates and two to four bullet points that show results.
  4. Add education and certificates. Include degree, institute and year. Add licences or short courses that the job needs.
  5. Finish with skills and languages. Choose skills from the job advert that are really yours.
  6. Proofread and export as PDF. A PDF keeps your layout the same on every device.

Driver CV: frequently asked questions

What should a driver CV for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar or Kuwait include?

Include passport validity, licence type and years of driving, vehicles you have driven, and your experience letters. Mention if you can drive manual and automatic and if you know city routes. State that you will complete licence conversion or the local test.

Can I apply as a personal driver without a company experience letter?

Yes. Write the family or employer name, the years you worked and a reference phone number if the employer agrees. Many personal driver jobs are found through trusted references.

How should I mention my driving licence?

Write "Licence: LTV (Light Transport Vehicle), valid until 2028". Do not post a photo of the licence in the CV, but keep a clear scan ready to send on request.

Do I need English to be a driver in the Gulf?

Basic English or Arabic helps a lot with directions and employer instructions. Be honest about your level and list it as Moderate or Beginner if that is true.
